Coke Studio Brings Back Music To Marawi
For the rehabilitation of Marawi city, its communities and homes, Coca-Cola Philippines, through Coke Studio, spearheaded a hydration drive in evacuation camps where around 5,000 Maranaos are sheltered.
Evacuees received hydration packages, which includes Wilkins Distilled, Coca-Cola, and Sparkle.
Coke Studio bands like The Ransom Collective and Franco brought back music to the hearts of the Maranaos during a solidarity caravan of Coca-Cola Philippines at the Saguiaran Gym, one of the largest evacuation centers around Marawi City.
In support of this, Coca-Cola Philippines held a one-of-a-kind benefit concert at the MOA Concert Grounds last Saturday. This event celebrated the Filipinos' love for music as it empowered the youth to unite as one for a great cause. Highlights of the event include:
Outstanding Performances From Coke Studio artists
At the Coke Mismo stage, Coke Studio artists The Random Collective, Gab and John of Urbandub, Abra, Gracenote, Moonstar88, Autotelic, Ebe Dancel, Franco, Reese Lansangan, BP Valenzuela and Sandwich, Noel Cabangon and Curtismith shared the stage and rocked the night away for Marawi.
Being so close to the stage, I can't help but fangirl over Abra! For those who don't know, I'm into hip hop and rap too.
Tugtugan at the Tune Bayan Studio
Tune Bayan is Coke's Studio's social hall where college bands performed their original songs and mingled with other college groups from different schools. I had the chance to get up there and pretend that I'm a real artist. Well, I used to sing and I play basic guitar and piano as well so maybe that counts? Who wants a sample? HAHA :)
Creative Christmas Village
It was so creative and resourceful of the organizers to use Coca-Cola empty cases and parols to form Christmas trees! Very Instagram-worthy for millennials.
Fun Coke Studio Activities
Everyone had fun singing their favorite songs, getting their personalized Coke Studio bottles and taking home Coke Studio photo prints from their activity booths.
FREE Coca-Cola
Who doesn't love free Coke? And did you know that you can become a Coke Studio Artist too by singing-along to your favorite #CokeStudioPH song? Just download the Happy Shopmate app and use it to scan specially marked Coke bottle caps!
Recycling Drive
Yup, everything is useful in a bottle of Coke! After consuming the beverage, and keeping the bottle caps for sing-along purposes, the PET plastic bottles were then disposed properly in the vicinity. The recyclables collection drive are just one of the fund-raising initiatives to build schoolhouses through the Little Red Schoolhouse program implemented by the Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines.
Good Company
What made the concert more inspiring is that I have great friends with me sharing the same love for music and joining forces to support Coca-Cola Philippines and Coke Studio's campaign for Marawi.
Coke Studio's benefit concert is one for the books! I had a blast tasting the sounds of Pinoy music and at the same time supporting #CokeStudioForMarawi #United4Marawi :) Of course, I will never miss an #OOTD opportunity. I'm wearing a 100-peso top and hooped earrings, pants is Php300, and my trusty Palladium Baggy boots in black.
