1. Petal Velvet Sunaway (Php480)
The packaging comes in a cute bottle with a millennial pink cover which reminds me a bit of Glossier. While the narrow nozzle of the bottle gives it a better control on the amount. It promises to keep your skin protected from the sun. Plus, it has the highest SPA of 50+ and PA++++ out of all the available K-Beauty sunblock products. The Petal Velvet Sunaway also has Damask Rose micro-powder particles and moisture-filled sebum control that leaves your skin smooth, and petal-like.
Curious about the scent? It has a hint of rose scent which is somewhat overpowering but I still like it compared to the regular sunblock scent. The true winner is the texture since it becomes liquid to powder velvet real quick, absorbs to my skin without being sticky and somewhat gives a healthy glowing effect. I've tried using it as a primer and also reapplied on top of my makeup and it works both ways.
Be sure to shake it before applying onto your face and spread it evenly before heading out.
2. Petal Velvet Powder (Php210, 3g each)
There are 3 versions of the Petal Velvet Powder: #0 Translucent, #23 Warm Beige, and Pink Lavender 3rd Anniversary Special Edition.
Their claim is that each powder sets makeup and leaves behind a silky finish to the touch. Infused with oil from Althea seeds, this powder works to keep sebum production at bay without drying out the skin for a radiant, fresh look, all while giving out a gentle scent.
Indeed, it is good for controlling oiliness or shine without caking or drying the skin. I used the #0 Petal Velvet Translucent Powder to set my BB Cream and it kind of blurred out some of my pores on the cheeks and didn't alter the color of my BB cream. It acts as a finishing powder for me, and I love that it doesn't leave white casts or marks on my skin.
The #23 Petal Velvet Warm Beige Powder variant on the other hand is closer to my skin tone and gives a natural coverage. But for those who have really fair skin tone, you can use it as a contour powder for your nose and face or even apply it as a base on your eyelids.
For those who want brighter complexion, the Pink Lavender Petal Velvet Powder is brightening, purifying and soothing on the skin. Achieve rosy-white skin with this version of the velvet powder. It can pass as a blush on for some too.
Overall, the Petal Velvet Powders' staying power is amazing. They keep my face fresh, sort of mattified for up to 6 hours the most. To summarize, the #0 Translucent is great for all skin tones, #23 Warm Beige is for those with darker tones compared to Korean skin tones, and the Pink Lavender is for brightening dull complexions. And oh, these all come in a super compact cases that are lightweight and very handy for traveling.
3. Milk Peel Cream Mask (Php490, 50ml)
Give your skin a big gulp of hydration with the refreshing peeling powers of Althea's Milk Peel Cream Mask. The Milk Peel Cream Mask consists of AHA and BHA which help peel off dead skin cells for smoother skin and the milk protein extract provides moisture and strengthens our skin.
It pumps out of the bottle as a soft clay and transforms into smooth foamy bubbles once it spread throughout my skin. Unlike most peel-off masks, the Milk Peel Cream Mask is not harsh on the skin. In fact, it is a light exfoliator that is very gentle. I felt like I was in a commercial lathering my skin with fresh pure milk! I swear, it is so refreshing on the skin. It's recommendable to use it twice or thrice a week.
