Shari Shari Kakigori House: Newest Japanese Dessert Place in Town

Ice, ice baby. Manila has been a melting pot for months and what better way to cool down than with a refreshing treat! Shari Shari Kakigori House, the go-to place for authentic Japanese shaved ice desserts, will finally open its first store in Serendra, Fort Bonifacio Global City this JUNE.

The kakigori sure looks similar with the bingsu. But what sets it apart is its flavorful sauces and smooth, fluffy, cloud-like ice.

Each shaved ice dessert is paired with a signature syrup and matching topping or powder to complete your cool Japanese dessert experience! You can put your own twist to it by adding your favorite toppings: ice cream, shiratama, cookies, cream, red bean, chocolate sauce, different powders, and kuromitsu! In fact, Chef Shingo and his team put utmost importance in providing an unforgettable dessert experience so their ice machine came all the way from Japan.

Their year-round menu consists of 11 flavors, including Matcha Cream Special, Earl Grey Milk Tea, Japanese Tofu & Mikan Orange, Strawberry Special; and the Philippine market exclusive Cantaloupe Melon. Black White Angel or cookies and cream as well as classic and fruits flavors such as Tiramisu, Banana, and even Mango are also available for everyone to enjoy.

Although Japanese Tofu Kakigori is the more favored flavor in their Hong Kong branch, my favorites would be the Matcha Cream Special, Strawberry Special and the Cantaloupe Melon.

Matcha Cream Special - If matcha is your thing, you’ll rave over this flavor with its delightful combination of shaved ice, matcha cream, kuromitsu, whipped cream, and cookies! Their matcha is sourced and flown in from Japan, which ensures the use of high quality, authentic matcha powder.

Strawberry Special - The natural sweet and sour taste of the strawberries is divine. It tastes like a strawberry milkshake but better.

Cantaloupe Melon - This Philippine-exclusive treat is made with melons from local farms to ensure a sweet, juicy taste in every serving. It is refreshingly good, I even got a second round of bowl for myself.

Each bowl costs around Php270 to Php380 and it's already good for sharing. Not to mention, the kakigori is picture perfect but be sure to take those Instagram-worthy shots as fast as you can as the ice melts in seconds.

So, which flavors would you most likely try? :) Visit Shari Shari Kakigori House soon at Serendra!
